Island Harvest Breeze

Starting January 2026, we will renew our breakfast offering.
We are pleased to introduce “Island Harvest Breeze,” a nourishing and visually rich breakfast that generously features local ingredients. From January 15, 2026, this breakfast will be available for a limited time not only to overnight guests, but also to non-staying visitors.

At the heart of the new breakfast is our original Saifan (herb rice), featuring mozuku seaweed harvested from Kouri Island. Rooted in local ingredients and traditional culinary wisdom, this meal offers an experience of “eating the land itself.”
Island-grown vegetables and fruits that rarely reach the market are sourced directly from nearby producers we know personally, and gently seasoned to bring out the natural flavor of the ingredients, using salt and koji as the foundation.

All ingredients are carefully selected from within a 20 km radius of Kouri Island, allowing the dish itself to resonate with the island’s morning.
The breakfast is served in our garden, surrounded by nature—where light, breeze, and birdsong quietly become part of the dining experience.

Saifan was once served at the end of feasts in the Ryukyu royal court as a dish to calm and restore the body.
At YAWN YARD, we have reimagined this tradition as a welcoming dish to gently prepare the body and mind for the start of the day—creating a light yet deeply satisfying bowl, perfect for a traveler’s morning.

Freshly cooked rice is topped with Kouri Island mozuku and seasonal ingredients, and enjoyed by pouring warm dashi over the bowl.

We recommend savoring the dish in three stages, all within a single bowl:

  1. enjoy the ingredients simply, just as they are, to appreciate their natural flavors.
  2. add our sweet koji sauce to deepen the taste while honoring the ingredients themselves.
  3. pour over a warm dashi made from Yanbaru young chicken and bonito, enjoying it like an ochazuke—warming dashi body and soul while taking in the spirit of the island.

Each ingredient reflects local culinary heritage and the island’s seasonal bounty.
Through these three expressions of flavor, guests are invited to experience the nature and culture of Kouri Island in a truly special way.

For a limited period, we will open “YAWN YARD Breakfast,” a special breakfast experience at YAWN YARD, where guests can enjoy a morning meal while embracing the relaxed atmosphere of Kouri Island.
Non-staying guests are also welcome, so please feel free to stop by during your visit to Okinawa.

Closed on February 9

Availability: Reservation required / Limited to 2 groups per day / Open to all guests

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Last order at 11:00 a.m.)

Price: ¥2,200 per person (tax included)
