YAWN YARD Kouri Island
Yard Yawning, staying in a yard
YAWN YARD. A completely new viewpoint based on sunlight, greenery, water, and human activity, creating a yard where people can stay. Perhaps there is a place to just do nothing, that nobody has ever discovered.
Stay
A yard to commune with the sky, the sea, and just the right amount of sun
The two cottages and an unbounded yard are there to fully embrace the essence of life on Kouri Island, where plants and landscapes play a more prominent role than humans. The cottages have large roofs that soften the Okinawan sunlight, dining tables are set in front of sea views, and beds allow for sleeping with the breeze flowing through. There is even a small pool to relax around.
Food Cook with food from the surrounding scenery, sourced within 70 km
Imagine meals with the whole bounty of produce from the Yambaru landscape you can see from the yard. Seaweed freshly harvested from the nearby sea in the early morning, local island vegetables, and herbs from our own garden. Working hand in hand with familiar producers, we recreate kusuimun in a contemporary manner.
