About Yard Classes
From April, we are pleased to offer the following Yard Classes—immersive experiences designed to gently open the door to life in Yambaru.

【Become Familiar with the Forest and Life of Yambaru】
Guided by nature expert Hiromi Kamigaichi, who has long lived alongside the nature of Yambaru,
this experience offers three different courses:
・Yambaru Forest Park Course
– a condensed introduction to plants and ecosystems
・Mt. Yonaha Trekking Course
– learn through walking deep into the forest
・Kouri Island Course(coming soon)
– experience nature as part of daily life
By the end of the tour, the way you see the natural world may gently shift.

【From Bean to Cup – Terroir at BURIKINA】
Okinawa lies within the “coffee belt,” where coffee cultivation is possible.
At Burikina Coffee Farm, Mr. Tadaaki Miyagi grows coffee in harmony with the land—
without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, guided by the climate and soil of Yambaru.
In this experience, you will visit the farm, learn about cultivation,
and work with your hands in the field while encountering his philosophy and passion.

【Touching Bashofu: A Living Textile Tradition】
“Bashofu,” designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property, is a traditional Okinawan textile made from fibers of the banana plant
At the Kijoka Bashofu Hall, you will observe the workshop, learn about cultivation and harvesting, and take part in the process of extracting fibers and preparing threads—working alongside local artisans.
This is a rare opportunity to listen to real voices and witness a living tradition shaped by time, care, and daily practice.
